National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is a government owned agency administering National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) is a new and effective way to provide a personalised support and care to people with disabilities and their families and carers. It has been designed to provide reliable support to people with a permanent or partial disability to perform their daily activities without any hassle.
The financial aid provided by the NDIS to eligible people is known as NDIS funding. Eligible people or NDIS participants can utilise this funding as per their individual needs.
- One must be aged between 7 and 65 years.
- One must be a permanent resident or citizen of Australia or hold a special category visa.
- Relying on support from other people due to a permanent and significant disability.
- Have been using special equipment due to a permanent and significant disability,
- Need some support now to reduce your future needs.
Eligibility for NDIS depends upon the following conditions:
Disabled person who fulfills all the requirements mentioned in the eligibility criteria and has been approved by NDIA for funded support is called a participant.
NDIS providers are the individuals or organisations that deliver support or a product to a participant in NDIS. People with disabilities can choose their providers and can change them anytime.
All our support staff are trained, experienced and qualified, based on the severity staff will act. First aid will be provided and the Ambulance will be contacted for further medical assistance. We will also make sure to inform your support network.
The NDIS does not provide funding for support if it is:
- Not related to a person’s disability.
- A duplicate of another support with a participant’s personal support plan.
- Related to daily living expenses not tied to a participant’s disability (e.g. rent, groceries).
- The responsibility of another government system or community service.
- Likely to cause harm to a participant or pose a risk to others.
- Related to income replacement.
